Sights and sounds from Hondy Indy Toronto 2014

Despite the rainy weather the Honda Indy Toronto 2014 is going strong this weeked. I had a chance to check out the trials as well as visit various attractions at the Exhibition Place last Friday courtesy of event sponsor Wind Mobile (who gave two Canadian Reviewer readers tickets to Saturday and Sunday races. Being around the Indy cars is an exhilirating experience and the best way to appreciate the cars and how fast they go is to be up close

The Power Plant's Old & New Tech Themed PowerBall

Last night brought out the most influential and high-profiled crowd in Toronto's contemporary art scene. Considered THE fundraising gala of the year, The Power Plant's annual PowerBall featured much talked about theme of "Old/New World." 

This year’s event paid tribute to the revolutionary time when digital technology developed from an analogue world, transforming everything from music, art, fashion and food. The event celebrated the the old and new world with work by local and international artists.

Takashi Murakami featured in Contemporary Asian Arts exhibit in Toronto

Fans of contemporary asian arts take note! Highly sought after works by some of the most well-known asian artists have taken over Waddington's Auctioneers in the first-ever selling exhibition. Artists include Takashi Murakami, Tomio Miki, Nobuo Sekine, Koje Enokura, Ayako Rokkaku, Tatsuya Matsushita, Masashi Nishizono, Wu Junyoung, William Ho, Zhang Yuanfung, Ju Ting, Chen Minguhui, and Liu Lin. 

The exhibition features 43 works in total and what's unique about this particular show is the pieces are available for straight forward purchase by the general public.

TIFF Kids digiPlaySpace Interactive Playground exhibit preview

digiPlaySpace has recently opened its doors to the third annual technology play ground for kids and families. Located at the TIFF Bell LightBox building in Toronto, this award-winning interactive hands-on exhibition offers kids of all ages the opportunity to explore and create with some of the world’s leading developers and international artists. Installations are designed with the child user in mind and often unveiled for the first time in Canada.
