Waze shares tips for navigating through busy November events

Many things are happening this month, which is both exciting but also makes it a bit tough to get around. For example, Katharine Harvey’s Light Up Downsview: A Drone Performance this Saturday (Nov 12) is at capacity, so attendees and residents in the area can expect the roads to be busy. The same will be true for other events happening this month including the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (Nov 4 - 13); Santa Claus parades in Ontario throughout November and December; the One of a Kind 2022 Winter Show (Nov 24 - Dec 4); Cavalcade of Lights (Nov 26); and Glow Toronto - Christmas Light Festival & Market (Nov 30 - Dec 31).

Waze wants to help you navigate through these busy travel times with tips you may find useful. Get the full details under the cut.

Waze lets you drive away or with zombies this spooky season

Waze has another driving experience to get you in the mood this spooky season. You can now enter Waze's "Zombified" world and choose to team up with an expert escapist to avoid the zombies or with the undead themselves. The Survivalist will keep you away from the slow-moving menaces as you ride in the Escapemobile. You can show off your strength with the Survivalist Mood. Meanwhile, the Zombie voice navigation will give you a peek at the inner workings of the undead. You ride in the Zombieombile this time.

You can activate the experience by visiting this link or heading into the My Waze section in the app and tapping on the Drive with Zombies banner. Voice navigation is available in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Waze wants to lighten your commute to work with Biz Jargon

Source: Waze

Waze is poking a bit of fun with your day job with its new Biz Jargon driving experience. While the name is a bit lacklustre, the theme strives to be anything but that. It's supposedly inspired by "offices everywhere (the virtual and the physical)," poking fun at what it deems relatable moments at work. The experience will be available in American and British English for the first time.

You can access the experience by heading to the voice & sound settings. Hear it say things like "Make a U-turn: Or what I call 'circling back'" or "Sorry, I was on mute, are we waiting for anyone else?" It also offers moods like Productive, Unproductive, All Business, and Business Casual. And you can change your car icon arrow into a paper airplane through the car icon option in the map display settings.

Netflix's 'The Sea Beast' comes to Waze

Source: Waze

Waze has partnered with Netflix to bring its new animated film, The Sea Beast, to the navigation app. You can activate the Sea Beast Mode experience in the app, meeting the dynamic duo Maisie (a.k.a. the precocious stowaway) and Blue (a.k.a. a little beast with a huge mischief streak). Maisie will help you translate Blue's sounds. You'll get introduced to other Beasts when choosing between the Moods: Blue, Red, and Yellow. And you can swap your car for a lifeboat to get into the true seafaring, adventurer spirit even on land.

The Sea Beast is screening at select theatres in Canada now and on Netflix on July 8. It tells the story of a legendary sea monster hunter and a young girl who stows away on his fabled ship.
