The Rogers family hopes to lend some assistance to Canadians deeply affected financially by the COVID-19 pandemic. And just in time for Rogers Communications 60th anniversary, the family will be donating $60 million to different charities across Canada, with the promise that all the money will be given this year so they can "make as immediate an impact as possible."

The donations will be given to organizations like Food Banks of Canada, Salvation Army, Women's Shelters Canada, and Children's Aid Foundation, among others.

"Our father, the late Ted Rogers, was a proud Canadian. He always worked to make Canada better and make our communities stronger," said Melinda Rogers-Hixon, deputy chair of Rogers Communications. "With our mother, Loretta, Lisa, Edward, Martha, and I as well as our families are committed through this donation to organizations supporting those living with food insecurity, homelessness, domestic violence, and at-risk children and youth."

Dropbox now automatically backs up system folders

Graphic courtesy of Dropbox

Dropbox is trying to make it easier for you to work at home or wherever you might be. One new feature, which is available for all Dropbox users, automatically backs up your PC or Mac files in dedicated system folders. The tool allows you to access your files on-the-go or at least give you a backup if your hardware goes on the fritz.

Before Dropbox launched this long-overdue function, you needed to allocate files to dedicated folders. Now, it'll back up entire folders and even sync connected devices (like external hard drives) as long as these are connected to your computer when you set up the backup process.

Renders show iPhone 12 in new navy blue colour

Rumour has it Apple is bringing a new flat-edge design to the iPhone 12, making it look like the iPad Pro while also bringing us back to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 days. A new render that surfaced online shows us what this phone could look like in a new navy blue colour.

There's only one rumour that claims that the upcoming iPhone will come in navy blue. But with the iPhone 11 coming in a midnight green option, we won't be particularly surprised if Apple decides to branch out and introduce another new shade to add to its usual options. These renders do make us hope there is more truth to the rumour.

Android TV rumoured to get Google Assistant's Voice Match

If the discovered code is anything to go by, Google plans to bring Assistant's Voice Match feature into your television soon. 9to5Google found code indicating that this change is coming. It could be particularly useful for things like having Android TV launch to your Netflix profile since it matches your voice to your account. It's unclear why Google decided to bring Voice Match to this platform, or when we'd see this. But it makes sense to introduce Voice Match to a multi-user device like a TV. We're just waiting for any updates from Google. We hope it comes soon.
