Google Photos tests feature to show curated albums on smart displays

You want to show off photos on your smart displays or Chromecast-connected devices? Google Photos is testing out a new feature called Photo Frames for this specific function. It's available in version 4.32 of the app. And it's accessible on the left sidebar. When you select this option, it'll show you a list of Chromecasts or smart displays in your vicinity. Once you've chosen the device you want to display photos on, you can pick the album you want it to show.

Dark mode is coming to Gmail

There are hints of Gmail finally getting dark mode. The latest version of the app (2019.08.18) shows its splash screen and widget sporting the dark mode colours. If you run Android Pie and have night mode activated, you'll see this. The next version of Android, Android 10, will be bringing a system-wide dark mode that lets you change colour schemes with just a single tap. Apps like Chrome, Google Maps, and Google Play have been prepared for this. And it looks like Gmail is up next if this update is any indication.

Another useful feature made its way to Gmail. It's now easier to swap from one Gmail account to another. Instead of having to select the account over at the icon at the top right, you just need to place your finger on the icon and slide up or down. The same feature has appeared in Google Maps and Google Drive before.

'Stranger Things 3: The Game' comes to mobile

The Stranger Things 3: The Game has just officially launched on mobile. It's now available on both iOS and Android at $6.99. This time around, we still get some familiar scenes from the series alongside some "never-before-seen quests, character interactions, and secrets." It still has that retro art style reminiscent of the era combined with modern gameplay mechanics.
