Just Read Chrome extension takes away website distractions

Sometimes you just really want to read that long article you’ve been putting off for a while. But you can’t help but get distracted by links, ads, or anything else happening on your site of choice. The Just Read Chrome extension wants to rein in this tendency. It helps take out ads, comments, and other elements of a website that might distract you while you try to read. Just Read even comes with a dark mode or a customizable theme to have it look the way you want it to. There are themes from other people that you can use, too. If you just really want to read, this Chrome extension just might be the lifesaver you need.

DC’s ‘Shazam’ gets new trailer

Ahead of the film’s release next month, we get to see a bit more of DC Comics superhero Shazam—and how he’s unlike the brooding characters we’ve come to expect from the DCEU. We get a quick look of how Billy Batson (Asher Angel) turns into adult superhero Shazam (Zachary Levi) and all the trouble he gets into trying to figure out his place in the world. We even get a cameo from a well-loved DC character, sort of. Batman appears in the form of a large plush toy as Shazam fights with some bad guys in a store. You can watch the full trailer above.

Microsoft Edge for iOS gets instant translations

Microsoft updated its Edge browser on iOS to add a useful feature. The v42.11.4 .build now offers instant translations of web pages that aren’t in your native language. The company uses its own Translator tech to bring this to life. Aside from this, you can add company account or educational institutions, access intranet sites securely, and view web pages in the PC timeline. There are the usual bug fixes and improvements thrown in as well.

AirPods’ wireless charging case rumoured to charge the earbuds to full in just 15 minutes

There’s a rumour going around it wouldn’t take too long to charge the AirPods with its wireless charging case. According to Twitter leaker Max Weinbach, the wireless charging case can get your AirPods from zero to 100% in just 15 minutes. Right now, the AirPods can get three hours of use with a 15-minute charge so this leap would be significant. The tradeoff supposedly is the case will be thicker and heavier so it can fit the Qi coils.  It’ll supposedly be slightly longer in one dimension. As previously rumoured, it’ll reportedly come within the next few months. 9to5Mac warns that Weinbach doesn’t have a proven record yet when it comes to leaks, so these claims must be taken with a grain of salt.
