WhatsApp on iOS can now be locked behind Face ID or Touch ID

Depending on what iPhone model you have, you can now use either Face ID or Touch ID to restrict access to your WhatsApp. If you have the newest version (ver. 2.19.20) of the app, this feature can be activated from its Privacy menu within the Account Settings. You can’t set it on a per-chat basis, though. Also, if you have message previews turned on, you’ll still be able to see and reply to messages without having to unlock the app. You can also answer calls. But if you want to dive deeper into the app, you’re going to need to unlock it with either Face ID or Touch ID. There isn’t any word yet when the feature might make its way to Android.

In an effort to combat climate change, Tesla CEO Elon Musk reminds the general public that all of the company’s patents are public and can be used “in good faith.”He believes that the problem isn’t the non-Tesla electric cars, but that there’s still “the enormous flood of gasoline cars pouring out of the world’s factories every day.” As Fossbytes points out, the announcement comes out on the same day a Chinese national was arrested for stealing a major patent for Project Titan, which is Apple’s self-driving cars project.

Possible new Samsung devices get leaked in a new video

Samsung’s Unpacked event is just a few weeks away, and as expected the leaks just keep coming in. This time, we get a leaked video from Samsung Vietnam that shows what the rumoured Galaxy F foldable phone and other innovations we might expect from the company. The video shows us an all-screen tablet that comes with stylus input, a take on the foldable phone, a giant digital display that has a Minority Report-like interface, a portable ultrasound device, and what looks like the Galaxy S10 Lite phone with advanced AR features. Whether any of these are actual products or just renders or concepts remain to be seen. For now, we have to wait until more leaks drop or we wait for the actual event happening on February 20^th.
