Huawei starts rolling out Android Pie update to Mate 10 Pro

While Huawei seems to be prepping the new EMUI 9.0 for the release of the Mate 20 Pro in two weeks, some owners of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro have been getting the update for the user interface, which is based on Android Pie. It’s coming to the BLA-L09 and BLA-L29 versions, which are sold mostly in Europe but we’re keeping our eye out for it here. According to GSMArena, the UI brings with it new gesture setup for multi-task switching between apps, improved version of GPU Turbo, and Android Dashboard. There will also be Advanced Battery with AI Support, Adaptive Brightness, Notch Support, a new look for the volume slider, and security updates. It comes in two versions for the two models (BLA-L09C432E4R1P8B108 and BLA-L29C432E4R1P8B108) and need 2.2GB of space.

Bethesda announces ‘Fallout 76’ beta size

Bethesda just answered some important questions about the upcoming release of Fallout 76. One of the most important and pertinent questions is how big the beta version of the game will be. The game will be at least 45GB to download and it won’t be available to pre-load. That seems to be sizeable for a beta, or B.E.T.A. as Bethesda calls it, but it must be remembered that this “Break-It Early Test Application” is the full game. It will carry over the players’ progress to the full product release, which will be on November 14th. But console gamers will need to download the official version when it comes out, because you won’t be able to transition from B.E.T.A. to the full game.

Some of the other questions Bethesda answered included the need for players to have PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold accounts. As previously mentioned, B.E.T.A. will be coming out first on the Xbox One on October 23rd, and will come out the week after for PlayStation 4 and PC players.

Netflix brings three new sci-fi series to its service

'Warrior Nun' is based on 'Warrior Nun Areala'

Three new sci-fi shows are coming to Netflix soon and two of them are comic- and manga-inspired. The first one is Warrior Nun, a manga-inspired series that follows a woman who wakes up in a morgue and finds herself part of an ancient order of demon hunters. Ghost Wars’ Simon Barry will be serving as showrunner. The comic-inspired series is called October Faction. Based on the IDW comic series, it also involves a couple of monster hunters. Fred and Deloris Allen return to Fred’s hometown to discover its secret, while trying to keep their identities under wraps. Sleepy Hollow’s Damian Kindler will be the show’s executive producer and showrunner. Lastly, there’s The I-Land, which is an ensemble show where 10 people find themselves on an island with no memories of who they are and how they got there. The island has some grueling challenges they need to survive and hopefully improve from. Kate Bosworth is starring and producing the series. She is joined by The Crossing’s Natalie Martinez and I Am Number Four’s Alex Pettyfer. There are no release dates yet for the shows.

A new hybrid watch from LG has been reported for months already but it looks like the company is ready for it to launch. Evan Blass a.k.a. @evleaks reported that the LG Watch G7 will launch alongside the V40 ThinQ smartphone on October 3rd. Its existence has been reported through FCC filings that suggest it comes with a 1.2-inch display, 768MB RAM, and 4GB of storage. It won’t, however, have GPS or NFC functions. At that time, it was rumoured to be called Watch Timepiece. Now, whether these specs line up, we’ll find out soon enough.
