WWDC 2017: iPad Pro gets demoed in video with iOS 11's new features

San Jose, CA - iOS 11, which will come as a free upgrade to iOS devices this fall, brings a lot of iPad specific functionality that make Apple's tablets more sensible PC replacements or, at least, approximate familiar use cases. 

The video above shows an iPad Pro using multiple item drag and drop, the new Files application that brings a file system to iOS. These features will change the way we work on iOS and on the iPad and are sure to gain popularity with enterprise users and professionals making the iPad Pro their primary computing device.

San Jose, CA - Fans of the iPad Pro line had much to rejoice for during today's WWDC Keynote where a new 10.5-inch model was announced replacing the 9.7-inch iPad Pro and adding 20% more screen real estate. The new iPad Pros boast the most advanced displays Apple has ever made with a new technology that delivers refresh rates of up to 120Hz for fluid scrolling, greater responsiveness and smoother motion content. With ProMotion, Apple Pencil is even more responsive with an industry-best, 20-millisecond latency for even more fluid and natural drawing. 

iPad Pro boasts performance that matches and surpasses many PCs. Apple's provided a 64-bit A10X Fusion chip, a six-core CPU and 12-core GPU that can deliver up to 30 percent faster CPU performance and 40 percent faster graphics performance than the industry-leading A9X chip, while lasting 10 hours on a battery charge.

WWDC 2017: Apple reveals iMac Pro, most powerful Mac ever created

San Jose, CA - Apple showed off a sneak peek at the upcoming iMac Pro, the most powerful Mac ever made which is designed for professionals. Featuring a 27-inch Retina 5K display, various configuration options with up to 18-core Xeon processors and up to 22 Teraflops of graphics computation into a stunning new space gray enclosure, and it's the most powerful Mac ever made.

JAccording to John Ternus, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering. “We reengineered the whole system and designed an entirely new thermal architecture to pack extraordinary performance into the elegant, quiet iMac enclosure our customers love — iMac Pro is a huge step forward and there’s never been anything like it.”

WWDC 2017: Apple updates entire iMac and MacBook Pro lines with latest processors, SSDs

San Jose, Ca - iMac and MacBook fans got some great news at WWDC earlier today as Apple announced that it has updated the entire line of Mac desktops and notebooks with the latest Intel Kaby Lake processors, 50 per cent faster SSDs and improved performance.

iMacs, in particular, got a lot of love today with improved graphics and displays, even more options for adding storage and RAM. 

iMac also comes with the best Mac display ever, now 43 percent brighter at 500 nits and with support for 1 billion colours, delivering an even more vivid and true-to-life viewing experience.

The updated iMac features faster Kaby Lake processors up to 4.2 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 4.5 GHz and supports up to twice the memory as the previous generation. Fusion Drive is now standard on all 27-inch configurations and the top-end 21.5-inch iMac. SSD storage options are now up to 50 percent faster, and iMac comes with Thunderbolt 3, the most powerful and versatile port ever.

“With major updates to iMac, and a refresh of our MacBook and MacBook Pro lines, the Mac is stronger than ever,” said John Ternus, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering. “Today iMac gets a huge graphics performance increase, faster CPU performance, Thunderbolt 3 and a brighter Retina display with support for 1 billion colours. We're also increasing CPU and SSD speed on MacBook, adding faster processors and making faster graphics standard on our 15-inch MacBook Pro and introducing a new $1,729 (CAD) 13-inch MacBook Pro.”
