Microsoft wants to build your dream HoloLens app

If you have the perfect HoloLens app idea but don’t know how to create it, Microsoft wants to help you out. The company’s Share Your Idea challenge wants developers to submit holographic app concepts on or before January 11th. The three most “viable” options will be posted on Twitter for voting. The idea that wins will be built by Microsoft. If you win, you’ll sit in for code reviews and Q&A sessions.

Ford Sync update brings Siri into the mix

Ford has released its first major on-the-fly update for its Sync software. It’ll be available for over five million vehicles that come with the company’s infotainment services. It’ll work for model years 2011 onwards that come with second-generation version of Sync. The update introduces Siri integration as well as access to Siri’s hands-free help. All you need to do is long press on the voice recognition button on the steering wheel.

Meanwhile, the third-generation version of Sync will include Siri Eyes-Free. This version has started to appear in vehicles with the current model year.

Taken in July during New Horizons’ closest flyby to the dwarf planet, the series of images captured by the spacecraft’s Long Range Reconnaissance Imager (LORRI) were taken from 10,000 miles away with a 250 to 280 feet per pixel resolution. What does this mean? NASA says these images are six times better than the global Pluto map the space agency released earlier. You can see the image stitched together under the link.
