Shakira and Rovio introduce ‘Love Rocks’ game

We’re sure you’ve heard of Shakira (if you haven’t, you must be living under a rock). We’re pretty sure you’ve also heard of Rovio or at least you know them more for their uber-popular Angry Birds games. The pop star teams up with the game developer to out her first game called Love Rocks. It’s a colorful puzzle game with a goal of linking as many gems as possible to get high scores. Shakira’s music plays in the background while you “travel” around the world to locations Shakira picked up herself such as Barcelona, El Dorado, and the Taj Mahal. There are over 150 levels of the game and you can even challenge yourself to beat Shakira’s own personal high score in each level.

Those who get past level 12 gain access to Shakira’s She Wolf album for free on Android. The free download is available for Google Play users in Canada, the US, Brazil, Spain, the UK, France, Australia, Italy, and Germany. You have until October 28 to redeem it.

Ford adds support for Siri Eyes Free to older vehicles

A new update for Sync infotainment system brings with it Apple’s Siri Eyes Free feature to second-generation Sync system. This is found in Ford cars made in 2011 or earlier. It’s a bit late since the feature was first introduced by Apple back in 2012 when iOS 6 was released but better late than never. Siri Hands Free has less features than CarPlay but it does let you operate your iPhone with Siri. It’s a boon since Siri’s gotten more new features with the release of iOS 9. Sync 3 platform is coming out in 2016 and Ford does plan to support CarPlay, too, but they won’t give any details yet.

Sync 3.8 also brings with it an improved pairing capability between the iPhone and Sync. It automatically reconnects your phone if it gets disconnected.

Yahoo Mail introduces new look

Yahoo Mail's trying to play catch up in the heavily populated email app industry with the redesign of its Android and iOS apps. The new look and features are said to make it more powerful and easier to use. A new feature hopes to rid your life of passwords. The Yahoo Account Key makes its debut in this new update. It makes use of push notifications to give you a "fast and secure way" to access Yahoo accounts.

Some of the other new features include a more prominent photo experience with Twitter and Facebook integration, no more avatars, simpler way to attach photos to emails, new contact cards, long press for multi-selection, quick swipe to mark emails as read or deleted, as well as a shortcut to Yahoo News. Yahoo claims it should also handle search for keywords and people better. And for those who use multiple Yahoo accounts, Outlook.com, Hotmail, and AOL Mail, you can now integrate those into the app.

Join a Skype conversation right from a direct link

Here's a convenient feature we hope Microsoft's Skype brings to our shores soon: join chats right from a direct link. It doesn't even require the people you invite to have a Skype account. All you need to do is send a link to someone, say, through Facebook Messenger and have them join your current chat session on Skype. They don't even need to have the app installed because there's Skype for Web. The guests can join video conversations, send instant messages, and make voice calls. Those who do have Skype accounts and the mobile app can do so through links on Android and iOS. It's now available for users in the US and the UK but will be coming to other countries in the next couple of weeks. Skype also plans to introduce then the ability to share direct links from the mobile apps but they won't give a timeline yet when that will happen.
