Star and create your own music video with Triller

The new iOS app Triller is a music video creator that doesn’t need you to have any editing chops. The app is designed to let you shoot a video from part of or one entire song from your library of featured tracks or your own collection. You then shoot multiple takes that can run for the entire length of the clip. Shoot as many takes as you want and customize these with the app’s 14 available filters. The app will then automatically edit these takes to turn it into one music video. Think of the app as your personal professional editor. Of course, you can share these on social media. I want to stay positive and think this is going to give birth to the next great pop star.

Periscope for iOS lets you mute notifications among many new features

Periscope on iOS gets a significant update adding a slew of useful features for its users. The Twitter-owned app now lets you mute notifications from specific users. You just need to head to their profile to turn off notifications for them. The video broadcasting app also now supports Handoff. It also has a new refreshed global feed. This feed shows you live streams from around the world that you might find interesting. Periscope updated this to show you broadcasts you might enjoy and now you can even filter suggested streams by languages. If you like seeing stats, the app now also shows you broadcast stats of your past streams. Before you could only see this after you finish a broadcast.

MemoriesCable offers up to 128GB of storage on top of charging your iPhone

Extra storage is always a boon and if it pulls double duty as a charger, too, then I’m all for it. PhotoFast introduced a new accessory called the MemoriesCable. It acts as a charger for iOS devices and comes with 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB storage options. On one end it has a Lightning cable to connect to your iOS device and on the other a USB 3.0 plug that can be plugged into your choice power source.

The files you choose to back up on the cable can be managed on PhotoFast’s i-FlashDrive ONE iOS app.  The app can also be used to playback the music and videos stored on your MemoriesCable and it can sync with Dropbox and Google Drive. It also offers backup capability for your social media content from Facebook, Instagram, and Flickr.  If you worry about security, you can restrict access to your data with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, Lightning lock, USB lock, and a password.

Frontback to shut down service by September 15th

Selfie apps have proliferated throughout the years as people continue to take more and more of their self-portraits. But that doesn’t mean the industry is sustainable for all players. Selfie-plus-rear-photo service Frontback’s recent announcement is proof enough. The app is shutting down come September 15. The app was able to attract two million users but weren’t able to keep the engaged with their service. It’ll start winding down on August 15th and Android and iOS users have that time to download their photos. After the September deadline, the photos on their servers will be deleted. During the winding down period, the iOS app will still function as a camera app without the feeds or social interaction, while the Android version will be removed from the Play Store.
