Samsung rumoured to be packing 4GB RAM into Galaxy Note 5

The rumour mill keeps churning for Samsung’s upcoming flagship phablet. This time around the Galaxy Note 5 will reportedly feature a 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, which will be combined with Samsung’s Exynos 7422 64-bit octa-core processor. This’ll make it the company’s first all-in-one chipset. This “ePOP” chipset will also reportedly have GPU, onboard storage, and Shannon 333 LTE modem.

Other reported specs of the Galaxy Note 5 include a 5.67-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD display, S Pen Stylus (obviously a given with the Note line), improved 16-megapixel rear camera, and built-in wireless charging. It’ll also supposedly feature a curved glass back and aluminum frame, similar to what the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge has. The bad news about that rumour is it might also mean the battery won’t be removable for the Note 5.

Neil Young to pull out from streaming services because of ‘bad quality’

Canadian singer-songwriter/high-fidelity music advocate/Pono Player creator, Neil Young, doesn’t want anything to do with streaming services. He’s announced that he plans to pull out of the likes of Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal. His reason: the sound quality is so bad that’s it’s doing a disservice to his fans. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t griping about the payment structure of these services either.

According to Young, “Streaming has ended for me. I hope this is ok for my fans. It’s not because of the money, although my share (like all the other artists) was dramatically reduced by bad deals made without my consent. It’s about sound quality. I don’t need my music to be devalued by the worst quality in the history of broadcasting or any other form of distribution. I don’t feel right allowing this to be sold to my fans. It’s bad for my music.”

Google Drive adds security features to file sharing

Google just updated Drive to add new features that give you more control over how others can use content you share. You now have the option to disable the ability of someone to print, download, and copy content you share with them. It might not be a big issue for a lot of people but if you share confidential files and need to limit someone else’s access to them, this option is quite handy.

To activate the feature, you just need to tick the checkbox for this option. It’s available under the Advanced menu, once you opt to share a file. This feature is only available to the file owner. And it doesn’t seem to be available for mobile users just yet.

Skype introduces easier sign-ins for Android

The latest update Microsoft is pushing out for Skype is making it easier for users to log on to their accounts. Version 5.5 of the app now remembers your log in details so when you log out and just want back into Skype through your Android device, you simply need to tap the arrow. If you’re worried how much of a security risk this is, you do have options to enable having to input a password every time you try and sign in.

Aside from that, Microsoft is planning to introduce web link previews into Android as well. It’ll be coming out in the coming weeks. This feature lets you see a small preview of a link sent to you by someone while on Skype.
