Drax the Destroyer finally gets his own comic

One more Guardians of the Galaxy character is finally getting his own comic. This time Drax the Destroyer will be getting the spotlight. This will be the first standalone comic for Drax since he was introduced in 1973. It’ll follow his personal battles across the galaxy in his attempt to prove he’s the greatest fighter out there.

The series will also be the debut for writer/former wrestler/upcoming UFC fighter CM Punk. He’s written one-off comics before such as Thor Annual #1 and Vertigo’s Stranger Sports Stories but this will be the first time he’ll be taking on an ongoing comic book series. No other details have been revealed yet except for the cover done by Ed McGuinness. Drax #1 will be out this winter.

Instagram introduces emoji hashtags

It has come to the point where we can’t even communicate with words anymore. Instagram is now letting you use emojis for your hashtags. And you can search for these through the Explore tab. According to BuzzFeed, the most popular ones are the kissy face one, the one with hearts in their eyes, and the one crying because of laughing too much.

The latest update for their Android and iOS apps also introduces three new filters called Reyes, Lark, and Juno.

‘Gears of War’ to be getting a remastered version on Xbox One

It’s become a habit (and a source of income) for companies to port their classic games to the latest consoles. Microsoft is cashing in on that trend with a remastered version of the first Gears of War game. The company, together with Black Tusk Studios and Dirty Bomb’s Splash Damage, are working on the game. It’ll feature better in-game graphics and “reworked cutscenes” made by animation studio Plastic Wax.

However, don’t expect it to be a new game. But if you’re feeling nostalgic for the cover-based shooter, this might be something to watch for.

Nokia denies any plans of making any smartphones

If you’ve been holding out for a Nokia device, you might be waiting for nothing. Of course, they could return to the business after the agreement with Microsoft ends in 2016. But it would seem they would want to deny the possibility now. In a statement they said: “Nokia reiterates it currently has no plans to manufacture or sell consumer handsets.”

You could say they could change their tune in the future but for now what we do get from them is the N1 Android tablet, HERE mapping service, and they have just purchased Alcatel-Lucent. We probably would see them in the cloud computing and Internet of Things space more than the consumer smartphone market anytime soon.
