Microsoft releases major update for Health app

Microsoft Health app—which you need for the Microsoft Band—has just been updated to get rid of a number of bugs as well to improve stability of the app. It now shows corrected historical views for steps and calories, birthday and zip code validation correction, and better handling of zero minute duration sleep events. The update should be coming to Microsoft Health users automatically.

TomTom to offer navigation technology for Acer smartphones

TomTom and Acer have entered a multi-year agreement to bring navigation technology to Acer’s mobile devices. The companies introduced the NavKit-powered AcerNAV, a turn-by-turn navigation app that will let you navigate anywhere in the world without additional roaming charges. It features route planning and interactive 2D and 3D maps that you can download for free. The rollout for the app with start in Europe during the last quarter of this year.

Todoist now supports iPhone 6 and 6 Plus

To-do list app Todoist finally releases a new update that supports iOS 8 and the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. It has a new user interface with adaptive layouts and now supports Safari Action Extension and Interactive Push Notifications. This means you can directly add text and images from Safari into your tasks.

Gepeto app brings augmented-reality into storytelling

 

Gepeto wants to harness your kids’ imagination with its app that will let them craft animated stories right on the iPad using puppet gestures. You can think of it as a virtual green screen to help your kids get creative. They can make up stories using any 2D or 3D animations and they can control the characters using puppets that mimic their natural play. They are running an IndieGoGo campaign starting today until December 22. You can find out more information here.
