Lenovo reveals the new Moto G5 in MWC

Lenovo's brought out the update to its mid-range model in the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. Clad in an aluminium and glass enclosure, the Moto G5 dresses up the budget-phone line with a sleeker look and feel but without compromising on the durability and reliability that the Moto G line has built its reputation on.

Moto G5 features an octa-core Snapdragon 430, 3GB or 4GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture, a fingerprint sensor that doubles as a gesture control. Moto Actions are also included and the Moto G5 will have a Turbo charging technology that promises 6 hours of use on a 15 minute charge. Stay tuned for more Canadian-specific details.

Back-to-basics LG G6 flagship unveiled in Barcelona

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

LG revealed a brand new flagship smartphone in Barcelona earlier today. The LG G6 is a back-to-basics device designed for reliability, performance, as well as water-resistance. Featuring a 5.7-inch display with thin bezels, this is a larger smartphone that's designed to fit better in user's hands.

The 5.70-inch QHD+ (2,880 x 1,440 resolution) FullVision display has a unique 18:9 screen aspect ratio. Compared to conventional 16:9 aspect ratio displays, the 18:9 format offers more viewing space and a more immersive experience as well as improved multi-screen experiences. The corners of the display are also rounded, something we haven't seen since the Palm Pre. Unlike the LG G5, which offered various accessories, the LG G6 is a solid, standalone device that brings the focus and feature-set back to the handset.

TCL launches latest BlackBerry smartphone called the KEYone

TCL, who now owns BlackBerry's IP, has launched the latest flagship device called the KEYone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. A QWERTY keyboard and 4.5-inch multi-touch display.  The Android-powered KEYOne has a 3505 mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0  technology and USB-C charging to allow a 50 per cent charge in up to 36 minutes. The device also features a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.

The KEYone features a hardened version of Android N, has a resilient metal frame and also boasts a battery that's good for two-days on a single charge. Fast charging is boosted by the system shutting off some functions to store up more power faster. This enterprise-focused device might just entice BlackBerry loyalists of old to consider shifting from whatever they moved on to.

The BlackBerry KEYone will be available globally beginning in April and will be priced at or under €599 EUR/£499 GBP/$549 USD (Canadian pricing and carrier availability to come later).
