Apple reportedly resumes iPhone X production in wake of weaker XS sales

Faced with weaker sales of its newest iPhone XS and iPhone XR models, Apple has reportedly resumed production of the iPhone X, a product that's been largely discontinued to make way for newer models. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Apple is pivoting to iPhone X to comply with OLED display quotas from Samsung who supplies the displays for the iPhones.

Because the iPhone X is supposedly easier to mass produce than the newer models, Apple hopes to continue selling the iPhone X to offset the weaker sales of this year's iPhones the report said. The iPhone X is still plenty of smartphone even if it is a year old. It has all the latest features thanks to iOS 12 and is just the right size for many users.

Apple has reportedly cut production orders for all three of 2018's iPhones, it's iPhone assembler, is allegedly cutting $2.9 billion in costs to mitigate the drop in expected orders.  Apple increased pricing for its flagship models this year, which made some consumers opt for cheaper alternatives like the iPhone 8, which is still being sold.

Take a look at the latest Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings enabled smart home solutions

We recently went on a walkthrough at Amazon's pop-up smart home and saw a variety of applied smart home solutions. Among the stand out products that caught my eye include the August smart locks that can be unlocked remotely with an app or through your voice.

We also saw the impressive iRobot Roomba i7+ (which we will review soon), this smart robot vacuum can be controlled by voice as well and even empties its own filter on to its charging station. Samsung showed off various sensors, it's high-tech refrigirator with a display, it's Frame TV and other sensors. Check out the video above to see some of the demos.
