Google's getting rid of the Chrome lock icon

Image: Google

Do you know what the lock icon means on the Google Chrome browser? Well, you're not alone. That's why Google will replace this icon next to the web address bar with a version of the "tune" icon you see above. According to Google's research, only 11 percent of users realize it refers to HTTPS encryption. The Google Pixel Fold is official

Google's not one for leaks anymore. The company would rather show the product before it officially launches. And now, we know that the heavily rumoured Google Pixel Fold is coming next week at Google I/O. And we get to see what it looks like from the front and back.

The Pixel Fold is expected to cost around USD 1,700 (around CAD 2,313). It'll supposedly run on Google's Tensor G2 processor, which powers the Pixel 7 devices. And the external screen measures 5.8 inches, while the inner display is 7.6 inches. Battery life is expected to get you up to 24 hours with regular use or up to 72 hours with Extreme Battery Saver enabled. We'll get confirmation on this and more on May 10 when Google I/O officially opens.

Discord's latest update will force you to change your username

Image: Discord

Discord is changing how identities work on its platform. Up until this point, the company used four-digit tags to identities to distinguish those with the same username. But when the new system rolls out in the "coming weeks," you get a chance to get a unique username. When Discord implemented its system, the aim was to give users the chance to choose any username they wanted. But Discord said it's now become "technical debt," with usernames becoming "too complicated or obscure" to remember.

The company will be sending out messages when the new system goes live. And if you've been on the site for a long time, you'll get priority over newer users. Previous usernames will continue to function as an alias, so users can still find you through those labels.
