Report claims Apple looks to integrate Shazam into iOS

A recent report from Bloomberg claims Apple plans to integrate the song recognition feature of Shazam into future iteration of iOS. It would be similar to how the mobile platform is integrated in Twitter without the need to download a separate app. It will also be able to use  Siri to name a song you hear instead of having to open an app. This could be a handy feature if the rumours will ever be confirmed. Perhaps Apple's upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference will bring this rumour to light or debunk the report.

New mobile Flickr apps make capturing, sharing and discovering photos easier

Today, Flickr released new versions of its iPhone, iPod touch and Android apps to make it faster and easier to capture, share, and discover beautiful photos and videos.

Notable new features include:

  • Capture and edit up to 30 seconds of HD video, using the same live filters available for photos, directly in the app.

  • Smarter and faster search experience -- it could take up to three seconds per search in the past...now it takes 30 milliseconds.

  • Simpler navigation tools and a redesigned photostream that makes it even easier to share to Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook.

The new Flickr apps are free and available to download for Android in the Play Store, and rolling out for iPhone and iPod touch in the App Store. To learn more, check out Yahoo’s Tumblr post below or the Flickr blog here. Screenshots and videos are available here.

SlideShow: Hyundai Veloster Turbo 2014

Text and photos by Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

I just picked up the above Vitamin C coloured Hyundai Veloster Turbo 2014. This sleek and well-appointed three-door hatchback sports a 201hp powered by 1.6 Liter turbocharged four cylinder engine, a 6-speed Automatic with SHIFTRONIC Manual Shift Mode with Paddle Shifters. A brief test drive earlier today revelaled a sporty but restrained performance, responsive braking system and all the tech you'd need in a car of this class including a multi-functional 7-inch touchscreen that easily interfaces with smartphones, has built in SatNav and iPhone integration with voice recognition. Some of the features that caught my eye were the panoramic sunroof, firm heated leather seats, spaceship-like instrument cluster and proximity-enabled start button. I have the chance to test this car out for a week and hope to put it through its paces as my daily driver as well as enjoy what it has to offer. Stay tuned for my full review right here.
