Review: RIM BlackBerry PlayBook

To say that we were anxiously anticipating RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook would be an understatement. Ever since Research In Motion made overtures that it would enter the tablet market, we were stoked at the possibilities. This is Canada's very own tablet, how could we not feel a tingle of excitement. Especially once we heard that RIM wasn’t going to make a BlackBerry Tablet (oh, thank, God!) but create an entirely new device that used a completely new OS.

Mobilicity raises $215 million of new financing

Showing that it is here to stay and that it intends to continue competing against the incumbents, Mobilicity enhanced its leadership position as Canada’s rising new wireless carrier, announcing that it has raised $215 million through a debt offering.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and Xperia Arc Launch event 

Sony Ericsson pre-empted the nationwide launch day of the new Xperia ARC and Xperia PLAY smartphones by holding a media and early-bird event at the Eaton Centre Sony Style Store to officially launch the newest pair of Android smartphones under Rogers. The first customer who purchased the Experia PLAY (below) received additional goodies from Sony like a free dock as well as signed collectibles. The first ARC owner in canada got a Sony Digital Phot Frame. The ARC and PLAY are coming to Rogers tomorrow.

White Apple iPhone 4 comes to Canada Tomorrow

All the people who have been waiting for the white iPhone 4 to make an appearance can now exhale, for real. The 16GB and 32GB versions of the white variant of the iPhone 4 is coming to Canada tomorrow and will be in Apple Retail stores as well as online. Some earlier leaks stated that the white iPhones were already showing up in Virgin Mobile and Telus stores so mobile carriers may have a limited stock of the much awaited frosted iPhone.
