Motoring: 21st Century VW Beetle unveiled

70 years old and arguablly the most familiar car in motoring history, the beloved VW Beetle has been re-imagined and redesigned for the 21st Century. Longer, lower and wider, the look is a slight departure of the rounded design elements that have been the Beetle's look and personality. This is the 2012 VW Beetle unveiled hours ago.

Dell recycles 150 million pounds of used electronics in 2011

Dell Computer announced it diverted more than 68 million kilograms (150 million lbs.) of end-of-life electronics globally from landfills in fiscal year 2011, a 16 percent increase over fiscal year 2010. Dell is about two-thirds of the way toward its goal of recycling 1 billion pounds of e-waste by 2014.

National Film Board of Canada launches app for BlackBerry PlayBook

It may not ship with email, contacts, a calendar, a memo or native BBM capability, but RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook will have instant access to over 1,500 films from the National Film Board of Canada through its app. The app gives users free access to acclaimed NFB films, as well as an exclusive high-definition (HD) channel dedicated to award-winning NFB films via WiFi.

Sears Canada offering the BlackBerry PlayBook tomorrow

If Apple can sell its  iPad 2 in Toys "R" Us, then what is to stop Sears Canada from offering RIM's new BlackBerry Playbook? Tablets are so hot right now that non-traditional retail outlets are being tapped to sell the devices. So, if lines are long and stock is low at your favourite electronics big box store, you might get lucky at Sears. We're wondering how intense the demand and line activity witll be for RIM's first non smartphone product.
