Virgin Mobile offers tablet-specific prepaid data plans

Virgin Mobile is introducing a new postpaid flexible rate plan for the Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab. With no activation fee, Virgin Mobile Members can choose from two plans. For only $20/month, Members get up to 500 MB of data – and for $35/month, they can access up to 5 GB.

CES 2011: BlackBerry Playbook demo shows Flash games and video capabilities

RIM's BlackBerry Playbook tablet is not due out for some time (weeks, months?) but here's another teaser video showing the device and its video playback talents as well as its ability to play Facebook games natively. We're impressed by the smooth scrolling and snappy performance of the tablet and that software keyboard looks good. We hope to swing by Blackberry's CES 2011 booth to see if they will give us a proper preview of the device.

CES 2011: Opera outs browser for tablets

Opera knows browsers and apparently also has a good grasp of what works with tablets. Previewing their Android tablet browser at CES 2011, Opera hopes to make inroads into the upcoming tablet explosion, something it missed doing with smartphones by coming late to the market.

"In 2011, tablets are a new must-have. Opera is creating waves with the first public preview of Opera for tablets," added Christen Krogh, chief development officer of Opera Software, in a statement. "Opera for tablets brings the same trusted Internet experience to tablets and netbook PCs as users have come to love on their mobile phones and desktops."
