Tesla finishes third behind Apple and Google as Most Innovative Firm by BCG

Electric Vehicle innovator Tesla Motors joins elite company as it receives the honour of being the third Most Innovative Firm from the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Coming in behind Apple and Google, Tesla joinslist of the 50 most innovative companies is based on a survey of 1,500 senior executives at a variety of companies whose products and services yield industry-wide innovation. Tesla beat out Toyota, BMW and Daimler in the top 10. Hit jump for the top 10 list.

Apple gives Beats Music subscribers until January 19 to move to Apple Music

As Beats Music evaporates into the ether, Apple is giving current subscribers ample time to move their content, playlists, music, and preferences over. These will be retained until Jan. 19, 2016 when the information will be gone for good. Apple emailed Beats Music subscribers a quick link to start a three-month free trial of Apple Music along with steps for migrating to Apple Music from Beats Music for both iOS and Android devices.

Apple's iPhone 6S ads are usually more about functionality than specs but the latest ad titled "Ridiculously Powerful," pulls no punches and shows the whole range of powerful applications that the iPhone 6S can handle. More than pure specs, which other smartphones may have more of, the iPhone 6S is really about maximizing the hardware and software's potential. The ad cycles through various apps such as running, speed tracking, games, smart home control , photos, video, music and ApplePay among others.

Apple releases Swift programming language into open source

Apple has released its Swift programming language, used for developing iOS and Mac OS applications and programs, into open source. Swift was developed two years ago as a replacement to Objective-C as a simplified yet powerful deveilopment tool.

Apple says Swift is, "the fastest growing programming language in history and combines the performance and efficiency of compiled languages with the simplicity and interactivity of popular scripting languages.

Apple today also launched the Swift.org website with detailed information about Swift open source, including technical documentation, community resources and links to download the Swift source code.
