Waze lets you drive with royalty until June 7

Graphic: Waze

In celebration of the Platinum Jubilee, Waze offers a Queen-inspired experience on its app. When you activate voice navigation, you'll "serve at the young queen's pleasure" while teaching you things like the "proper" way to pronounce "ma'am," secrets to handbag messages, and other etiquette-related lessons. The Moods you can choose from including a "stern guard," "a true royal," or a dog of your choice (Playful, Loyal, and Pampered).
In royal fashion, you will drive around in a Royal Limo. You can check out the whole Queen experience in the My Waze section of the app. There should be a Queen banner to activate. This experience is available until June 7 in the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

YouTube Music finally gets multi-select on web app

A basic music app feature is finally coming to YouTube Music, at least on the web. YouTube has added a multi-select option on the music.youtube.com web page. There is now a checkbox at the right when you're in list view. The feature presumably appears when you hover over a song. It remains visible after at least one selection is made. You then get options at the bottom of the screen for tasks like adding to a playlist or queue alongside an overflow menu.

However, it doesn't look like the feature is rolled out to all web users. And it's unclear if mobile versions of YouTube Music have it already. But we're hoping Google rolls that out sooner rather than later.

Google is working to combat notification spam on Chrome

Chrome's existing “quieted” notification prompt (Source: 9to5Google)

Google is taking a more aggressive approach to combating notification spam. A new code change in Chrome will allow the browser to revoke a website's permission to send notifications and block future attempts at asking for permission. Right now, Chrome's protections only convince you not to give that permission, but the choice is still left to you to accept.

This change will affect what it calls the "disruptive" sites. It is unclear if it will be similar to the existing lists of sites you may have quieted or if this is a separate deterrent. As 9to5Google noted, it looks like Google just wants to keep Chrome spam-free.

'Monument Valley' games to debut on the PC on July 12

Mobile games Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2 will now be playable beyond your smartphones. The two titles are coming to the PC on July 12. And since the vertical phone-style format won't work for the PC, developer Ustwo Games is releasing the game in ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio. This expanded view is being called the "panoramic editions." Both titles are coming to Steam for US$8 (approx. CA$10) each. But there will also be a bundle that includes all expansions, which offers the games at a 15% discount.
