Samsung Galaxy Watch available for preorder in 42mm and 46mm sizes

Samsung Gear is dead long live Samsung Galaxy Watch. The company's latest range of smartwatches promise Samsung Pay mobile payments and will come in 42mm and 46mm sizes. Starting today, Canadians who pre-order before September 30, 2018 will also receive a bonus wireless charger duo with their purchase ($149.99 MSRP), so you can charge both the Galaxy Watch and your smartphone simultaneously. Pricing for the Galaxy Watch is around US $329.99.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is available in retail today

Samsung's latest and most expensive flagship, the Galaxy Note 9 is available in Canada starting today. The starting price of the Galaxy Note 9 goes to $1,299 into premium space. The massive 512 GB variant (which likely comes with 8GB of RAM) costs as much as a premium laptop at around $1,600.

Telus and Koodo are holding back the Android P update for the Essential Phone and customers aren't happy

One of the advantages of the Essential Phone PH-1, sold exclusively in Canada by Telus and subsidiary Koodo, is that it runs on Pure Android.There's no carrier or phone manufacturer bloatware and this ensures quick adoption of the latest OS updates and features.

Designed and created by Android founder Andy Rubin, the Essential Phone's promise was that it would receive the latest Android updates when these were rolled out by Google.

This promise has been fulfilled by allowing Android P Beta on the device early and by rolling our the finished Android Pie update the same day it was made available globally. Except in Canada.

Nokia mobile phones make their return to Canada

Nokia, which once dominated the mobile phone market, was sold to Microsoft until that company abandoned its stake in smartphones is back in Canada. The new Nokia handsets run the gamut of devices, from a nostalgic 3310 feature phone being sold for $90 to a range of affordable and capable Android-powered smartphones for every budget.

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, announces that the Nokia 3310 3G, Nokia 1, Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6.1 are available to buy in Canada. Retailers carrying a range of devices online include Best Buy, Canada Computers, Staples and Walmart. Several of the aforementioned devices are also available in-stores at Best Buy and Staples now.
