Juicy Bits today announced a new in-app purchase for Halftone 2, its Apple Editors' Choice and App Store Best of 2013 winner Universal app for iOS. Halftone 2 makes it easy to create multi-page comic books by assembling photos from Facebook, Flickr, and the photo album. Users can add filters, customize page layouts, add speech and thought balloons, and so much more. The new in-app purchase offers over 50 licensed sound effect shapes from professional comic design and lettering company, Blambot.

Samsung unpacks Galaxy S5, new Gear 2 and Fit wearables at MWC

Samsung continued its tradition of theatrical unveilings by kicking things off with 10 minute orchestra performance leading to the launch of their new Galaxy5 flagship.

The new smartphone has a large 5.1" AMOLED screen, features a new 16 megapixel camera with fast auto-focus, a fingerprint scanner on the display and is water resistant. It is expected to launch by April 11 in 150 countries. Samsung also unveiled the second generation of their smartwatch, the Gear 2 and Gear neo which offer three times the battery life of the original and can act as standalone music players. Along with the Gears, a new Fit device designed for health tracking was launched as well.

HTC releases mid-range friendly 5.5" Desire 816 at MWC

HTC revealed its new mid-range Desire 816 smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Featuring a large 5.5-inch 720p HD display, 4G-LTE connectivity, a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 with 1.5GB of RAM. Geared towards the phablet market, it is also the first HTC smartphone with a nanoSIM and it is expected to come to the Chinese market in March.
