Skype now available for Symbian smartphones

Skype always sweetens the deal on any smartphone platform. For those times when you need to make local or international calls and are within reach of a fairly strong Wi-Fi signal, Skype is still the most effective and widely adopted option. Owners of the Nokia N8, C7 and E5 can now download the app  from their phones and get Skyping. Hit the jump for the full announcement.

Skype has just released an update to theSymbian app which adds support for the new Symbian phones, including the Nokia N8, C7 and E5.

It includes SILK, our high quality audio codec, which should help make sure your calls are crystal clear, even when you’re on a low-bandwidth connection.

The update also contains a number of interface improvements, making it easier to add contacts, navigate, add a photo to your profile and set your mood message. Additionally, we’ve updated the interface to better fit larger screens.

Skype works like a must have element for almost every 2nd internet user, Quality video calls free on phone is a great feature for all Nokia N8 and Nokia C7 users. Soon Skype is going to put some revolutionary change in mobile world.
