Nokia 5230 Brings Apps, Maps and Free Navigation to Canadians on Videotron’s brand new 3G+ network

Nokia and Videotron announced the availability of the Nokia 5230 on Videotron’s brand new 3G+ network.  A stylish and versatile 3G Touch-Screen smartphone that offers access to a wide variety of services, the Nokia 5230 operates on Symbian – one of the world’s most popular and open operating platforms – allowing for multitasking and true personalization of the homescreen and menu screens.

“The Nokia 5230 is designed for consumers who want a stylish device with no shortage of substance. It offers a great navigation experience, a wide selection of free and paid apps from Ovi Store and connection to social networks,” said Richard White, General Manager, Nokia Canada. “We are thrilled to offer this smartphone to even more Canadian customers through Videotron’s brand new 3G+ network. Videotron’s network is optimal for streaming multimedia and sharing data on the Nokia 5230, and we’re pleased to be a part of this exciting wireless development.”

"With the launch of its new 3G + network, Videotron had a need for strong partners like Nokia to expand its range of mobile devices," said Marie Ginette Lepage, General Manager, Marketing and Product Development, Wireless at Videotron. "We are very pleased that the Nokia 5230 is available on our new 3G+ network because it offers several features that will appeal to Videotron’s customers."

Media junkies can get their fix with the Nokia 5230’s brilliant 3.2-inch widescreen with picture-optimized display for photos, videos, movies and browsing.  Consumers will also enjoy quick access to exciting content via the Media Bar, media player with graphic equalizer, FM radio and up to 33 hours of music playback.
