Android 2.3.3 update puts Facebook inside Xperia PLAY and arc

Sony Ericsson today announced the Canadian availability of Facebook Inside for the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc and Xperia PLAY. By making Facebook immediately accessible from the most used areas of the phone such as the picture gallery, music player, phonebook and calendar, Sony Ericsson is enabling people to share and overshare  easier than ever before.

Facebook Inside Xperia features:

·         If you find a great new track or are listening to your favourite tune, you can ‘like’ it directly from the media player. The Wall on your Facebook profile will be updated automatically without you ever having to open the Facebook application.

·         Instantly discover the music and videos your friends have liked, recommended and have been commenting on through services such as YouTube.

·         Like and comment on pictures in your phone gallery.

·         See your friends’ Likes and comments – all in one place.

·         Your Facebook friends’ data is inside your phone book.

·         Your Facebook events and birthdays are inside your phone calendar.

·         Your Facebook notifications appear inside your lock screen.

 

Canadian Xperia arc and Xperia PLAY users can easily bring their life on Facebook and life on their smartphone together by updating their software to Android 2.3.3 atwww.sonyericsson.com/updateservice and by downloading Sony Ericsson’s PC companion to their desktops and following five simple steps .

To upgrade the Xperia arc or Xperia PLAY, please follow these steps:

1.       Before you start, back up your contacts, messages, media files, bookmarks, calendar, tasks, notes, etc.

2.       Go to www.sonyericsson.com/updateservice

3.       Xperia arc or Xperia PLAY

4.       Install and run the update by clicking on the link “Download here”

5.       Follow the instructions on your computer to connect your smartphone and update the software.
