Samsung sells 10 million Galaxy S IIIs

When Samsung released the Galaxy S III, many believed that it was going to be a hot device. Hotter, possibly than any previous Samsung handset and it looks like the GSIII is a winner.

A report posted on Mobileburn.com confirmed the milestone. "It appears that it (accumulated sales) has exceeded 10 million units," said Samsung's head of mobile, J.K. Shin.

It wasn't clear if these represented sales to customers or shipments to retailers. With the Galaxy S III, Samsung diverted away from its previous strategy of providing different variants of the same device to different carriers. The Galaxy S III is basically the same smartphone in most markets and it is being sold in 140 countries.
