JetBlue to accept Apple Pay for in-flight payments

Apple Pay users on JetBlue flights will be able to pay with their iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus devices when purchasing items in-flight. Instead of fumbling for cash or credit cards, using Apple Pay will make in-flight transactions quicker and more efficiently. Video and details after the break.

iPad toting flight attendants will be able to accept Apple Pay transactions. Customized software running on airline iPads will also allow crew members to identify frequent fliers or passengers traveling on their birthday, and the airline hopes to soon gain FAA certification to eschew paper copies of its hefty flight attendant manual in favor of digital versions loaded onto the iPads. Apple Pay has beaten other mobile wallet solutions which might be adopted at a later date. Apple Pay is still exclusive to US customers but many are hoping that Canada will be next in line to adopt the mobile payment platform which touts ease of use and security as well as easy retailer adoption as key features.
