Online PR is on the rise

We’ve covered several subjects surrounding internet marketing on this blog. However, today we’re going to take a closer look at online PR (Public Relations) and why it is quickly becoming very popular. Online PR is slightly different to internet marketing. Instead of trying to increase audience numbers directly, online PR campaigns are designed to increase the number of posts and news articles being created about the brand or the company. Since these posts are coming from other – usually independent – parties, they are considered to be more credible.

Online PR is on the rise simply because it is more measurable and is highly effective. Measuring the impact of an online PR campaign, according to experts from the online SPR program of George Washington University, allows PR professionals to show PR’s actual contribution to the brand’s success in reaching its goals.

The infographic Measuring Online PR Effectiveness by publicrelationsmasters.online.gwu.edu has more information about why online PR is on the rise.
