Getting medical prescriptions filled is now going to be easier than ever. Canadian patients across the country will soon be able to have their prescriptions filled securely via their mobile browser. Pillz, the brainchild of medical professional, Mohammad Taher, plans to eliminate the arduous wait times related to prescription pick-up and bills itself as the “Ritual” for pharmacies.
After working in healthcare for six years, Taher saw an opportunity to address the challenges that come with filling and refilling prescriptions. He was particularly concerned about senior citizens and cancer patients with weak immune systems and could potentially be exposed to seasonal viruses while at the pharmacy.
“Seeing these patients struggle, inspired me to set out to find a solution that brings comfort and convenience to this process.” said Taher, “My team is proud to be able to provide the means to change for those who need it most”.
Users must register online at Pillz.ca with their OHIP and Benefits Plan. When order-ready, they quickly launch their favourite browser, snap a secure shot of their prescription and upload it directly to the Pillz database. They are then prompted to choose from the closest geographic pharmacies for pick-up. The order is accepted, filled and the patient is alerted to pick-up at their convenience.
The web app is currently available for use in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Pillz web app is free to use at www.pillz.ca
