'Aladdin' and 'The Lion King' games will be re-released on the Nintendo Switch, SNES, Genesis

The classic 16-bit Disney games Aladdin and The Lion King are getting another lease on life in the form of a physical re-release. The game tie-ins to the Disney films are coming to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the older-generation consoles, SNES and Sega Genesis.

The Switch, PS4, and Xbox One versions will be bundled and will retail for $39.99. You can now pre-order Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King on Best Buy and EB Games Canada's websites. It'll launch on October 29. The game has new features like a rewind option, variable display options a museum to view artwork and trivia, 1080p visuals, and a "Final Cut" that has tweaked difficulty and camera settings.

If you're feeling extra nostalgic, iam8bit will be selling exclusively physical cartridges of the games for the Genesis and SNES. Only 4,500 units of each game will be released. And each will get limited-edition "Legacy Cartridges" encased in gold boxes, custom dust cover, full-colour artbook with restored artwork and a foreword from game designer Mike Mika, as well as "retro pack-in surprises." The games will retail for US$99.99 (around CA$130), and they will ship in early 2020.
