Samsung wants to help small business owners set up an advanced mobile payment system for them. And so the company launched a new NFC-enabled, contactless payment acceptance system called Samsung POS (Point of Sale), which is coming exclusively to Canada for now. It lets merchants accept credit and debit payments of up to $100 just by merely tapping cards, Samsung Pay, Apple, Pay, and Google Pay on the NFC-enabled devices. It doesn't require extra hardware, dongles, or cables to use. Samsung partnered with Mobeewave to allow micro-merchants and small businesses to grow by accepting card payments.

The system lets merchants send receipts via email, access real-time sales data, provide sales history, and create multiple accounts for staff. Samsung POS has been piloted in Canada for the past few months, with it being downloaded 10,000 times. The Samsung POS app is available through the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store. It requires a simple sign-up process to register as a merchant. Samsung plans to bring the system to other markets next year.
