Netflix renews 'The Umbrella Academy' for the third season

Netflix has confirmed that the comic book-based series The Umbrella Academy will be returning for its third season. It still follows the Hargreeves family composed of seven children, all born under mysterious circumstances on the same day. It's based on the comic books of the same name written by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way and illustrated by Brazilian comic book artist Gabriel Bá.

The show will again consist of 10 hour-long episodes, and production is expected to kick off in Toronto in February 2021. The core cast includes Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Colm Feore, and Ritu Arya. They are all set to reprise their roles, and showrunner Steve Blackman will return as well. It's expected to focus on the Sparrow Academy in this third season.
