Google Pixel Slate is suffering serious memory problems

Google Pixel Slate owners have been dealing with some serious problems with these Chrome OS-powered tablets. A handful of users have reported seeing their file systems switch to read-only mode, which they hypothesize is a flash memory failure. If the problem is true, it's not something Google can fix with a software update, rendering the device almost useless.

According to posts on Google's support forum, it starts off with a period of small errors, including icons fading to grey or apps crashing. It will then turn into a serious issue where any action that writes to disk will fail, so you can't even launch apps or download files. Temporary fixes include rebooting, resetting, power cycling, and factory resetting the device. It's not a good problem to have, and we hope Google somehow finds a fix.
