CD Projekt Red, NVIDIA tease 'Cyberpunk 2077' and its ray-tracing features

With Cyberpunk 2077 finally coming out in the next few weeks, game developer CD Projekt Red wants to show off the gaming. The latest behind-the-scenes video shows off gameplay footage featuring DXR ray-tracing and NVIDIA's DLSS tech. According to NVIDIA, the game is "more immersive and detailed" if you have ray-tracing enabled.

The company says that "glorious ray-traced reflections are cast on every possible surface; substantially improved shadows naturally soften and sharpen; [and] shops, streets and buildings are realistically illuminated with diffuse lighting."

If you want access to the feature when gaming on the PC, you'll need a fairly robust machine that uses NVIDIA's RTX GPUs (at least an RTX 2060 graphics card) or other DXR-compatible GPUs. If you want to play the game in ultra settings with ray-tracing, you'll need to meet the system requirements and an RTX 3080 GPU.

Cyberpunk 2077 with ray-tracing can also be played through GeForce Now. And the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will also support the feature when it arrives next year. Those who buy the game on the PS4 and Xbox One will get the upgrade for free. With backwards compatibility, the game is playable on the new consoles.

Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive on the PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC on December 10.
