Loblaw brings health and wellness app to Ontario
After launching the app in Atlantic Canada, Loblaw recently brought its new health and wellness app to Ontario. Powered by League, the PC Health app is designed to help you conveniently access the healthcare resources and support you need. PC Health is now available in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta on both iOS and Android in English and French, with plans to expand it nationally over the coming months.
When you complete the health profile on the app, it allows PC Health to offer personalized recommendations based on your health needs and interests.
You can use the app for things like getting health or nutrition guidance via live chat with a registered nurse or dietitian and monitor your personal health goals and work to meet them through daily activities outlined in different health programs. You can choose what programs you want to follow based on your needs and interests. It ranges from maternal and family health or diet and nutrition programs to mental health or anxiety management. You get a chance to earn PC Optimum points by completing daily activities and goals.
Using the expertise gained from owning Shoppers Drug Mark, Loblaw hopes the app is a "one-stop digital health tool for Canadians." PC Health also offers a curated marketplace for online health and wellness shops. You can also earn PC Optimum points on select products and services available on the app.
"Since launching in Atlantic Canada, we've had really great feedback from customers who are interacting with both the care teams and healthcare programs and have been excited by how helpful they are in meeting their specific needs," said Jeff Leger, president of Shoppers Drug Mart. "Whether Canadians need help finding a local physician, want support with simple meal planning or are looking to better understand their sleep habits, the PC Health app has the tools to help them better manage their health and wellbeing."
