CD Projekt Red vows to fix 'Cyberpunk 2077' issues on older-gen consoles

Cyberpunk 2077 is less than a week old, but it's facing heavy criticism, particularly its performance on older-generation consoles. Sony and Microsoft are allowing owners to refund their copies. CD Projekt Red (CDPR) also says gamers can return their boxed copies at the stores they originally bought these from. The issues range from graphical problems to glitches that make it impossible for players to complete quests. CDPR had to issue a hotfix to get rid of the worst problems.

The developer issued a new statement, apologizing for "not showing the game on base last-gen consoles" before its release. And it promises to release a series of updates in the coming months to bring the game up to parity with the next-generation and PC versions.

You can expect the first update to be available in the next seven days, with smaller releases to follow. There will be Patch # 1 coming in January, followed by Patch #2 in February.

These patches "should fix the most prominent problems gamers are facing on last-gen consoles," the company says. "They won't make the game on last-gen look like it's running on a high-spec PC or next-gen console, but it will be closer to that experience than it is now," it added
