E3 2020 will not happen due to coronavirus concerns

With the growing concern over the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), it comes as no surprise that another big tech event won't be pushing through. This time, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 as we know it, won't be happening in June. ESA, the organization behind E3, confirmed the news.

"After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry—our fans, our employees, our exhibitors and our longtime E3 partners—we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles," the ESA said in a statement.

ESA said it would keep in touch with exhibitors and attendees about "full refunds." And it is working with its partners to hold digital events in June. Companies like Xbox and Ubisoft are planning to hold online-only events, but we don't have accurate information about when these will happen yet.
