Square Enix releases 'Marvel's Avengers' patch that fixes over 1,000 bugs

A massive patch for Square Enix's Marvel's Avengers game just went live, addressing issues console and PC gamers face. It's the game's first significant update since it was released earlier this month, and it's designed to fix over a thousand bugs players came across over the last couple of weeks. It remedies everything from small graphical and animation tweaks to troubles that prevent progression.

As with any bug fixes, these are sure to unearth more issues. Square Enix is encouraging players to report the bugs from Patch V1.3.0 on this Reddit thread. Square Enix is cautioning players to refrain from refreshing Weekly Challenges if one is missing because it might crash the game.

Square Enix initially planned to release the title on May 15, but the developer pushed it back to fine-tune it. The game is an action role-playing brawler set in the team's second headquarters in San Francisco. There are single-player, multiplayer, and online co-op modes. The first playable characters available were Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Black Widow. Characters like Clint Barton, Spider-Man, and Kate Bishop will be coming in the future.

The developer plans to offer "future near-term patches will integrate more quality-of-life adjustments and feedback-driven features."
