Disney+ adds support for Google Assistant-enabled smart displays

A new update has started rolling out will allow you to watch Disney+ content on Google Assistant-supported smart displays like the Nest Hub and the Nest Hub Max. All you need to do is issue a voice command like, "Hey Google, play The Mandalorian on Disney+."

You previously needed to cast to the smart display from a Chromecast-enabled Disney+ on another device to play content. But now, Disney and Google take away that additional step. You can use the touchscreen to play and pause the show or film you're watching as well as skip forwards or backwards. There doesn't seem to be a way to browse content for now.

Canada joins markets like the US, UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand to gain access to the feature. Google says it will come to more regions in the coming months.
