Samsung introduces 'cheapest' 5G smartphone, new budget tablet, Trio wireless charger

Samsung's recent Life Unstoppable virtual event brings many new devices, including a few mobile gadgets you might want to notice. There's the new Galaxy A42 5G, which Samsung claims is its most affordable 5G device yet. This latest addition to Samsung's midrange A series will have a quad-camera array on the back, a 6.6-inch OLED screen, and will come in black. It'll launch later this year, but Samsung hasn't announced pricing yet.

Samsung also announced the new Galaxy Tab A7, a 10.4-inch tablet with four Dolby Atmos-compatible speakers. Samsung claims it is an "on-the-go picture and sound entertainment experience." The company also highlights the new Samsung Kids app, which offers educational content for children. The new slate will come in gold, silver, and grey. There's no price yet, either, but it is expected to be cheaper than the Galaxy Tab S7 tablets.

Samsung upgrades its Wireless Charger Duo with the new aptly named Wireless Charger Trio. As its name suggests, it can wirelessly charge three devices at the same time. Samsung doesn't mention the charging speeds of the Trio. But if charging different devices at once appeals to you, then you might want to check this accessory out. It will reportedly cost €99 (around CA$154) when it launches.
