Capcom to release 'Resident Evil Village' on Xbox One, Series S/X, PS4, PS5, and PC on May 7

Resident Evil Village will be arriving on May 7, and it will be available on several platforms. It was initially announced to come to the Xbox Series X, Series S, PlayStation 5, and PC, but during Capcom's Resident Evil showcase, the game developer announced it was coming to the Xbox One and PS4, too.

PS4 customers will get free access to the title in their PS5 digital libraries, and through Xbox Smart Delivery, Xbox players will also get an optimized version of the game for the Xbox Series X and S.

This sequel to 2017's Resident Evil 7: Biohazard follows that title's protagonist Ethan Winters as he hunts for his daughter in this haunted gothic castle.

Capcom kicks off pre-orders for the game. You can also get deluxe and collector's edition versions. PS5 owners get a "visual demo" called Maiden, which is available now and coming to additional platforms in the Spring.

Those who buy this title will gain access to Capcom's new online multiplayer game, Re:Versewhich pits classic Resident Evil characters against each other in five-minute battles of four to six players.
