Android Auto adds shortcuts to launch screen, games, split-screen multitasking

The last new update Google introduced for Android users recently focused on Android Auto. It now makes better use of car's screens. There are now shortcuts on Android Auto's launch screen to quickly access contacts. Those who have wider screens can have some form of split-screen multitasking, like showing Google Maps and music controls side by side. And if you worry about privacy, you can now set up what your car display shows.

It's now also possible to ask Assistant about the weather and then ask it to adjust the thermostat for you. If you want personalized wallpapers, that's available. And if you want to play voice-based games, there's Jeopardy onboard, too. Phones with Android 6.0 or newer will support these new features.

Some of the other new features we've written about include Password Checkup for Android, Schedule Send for Android Messages, Google Assistant locked screen support, new Android TalkBack capabilities, and Dark Mode for Google Maps.
