'Battlefield Mobile' beta kicks off limited testing this fall

The standalone mobile version of EA's Battlefield games is coming sometime in 2022. Now, the publisher plans to start beta testing for Battlefield Mobile this fall through a "series of smaller playtests." It's coming first to Android users in Indonesia and the Philippines. EA plans to expand testing to more users and new regions in the future.

This initial test will only have a single map called Grand Bazaar and the franchise's Conquest game mode. The free-to-play title will only include cosmetic items for now, with some you can earn through optional seasonal battle passes.

EA plans to release more details about other maps and modes closer to its launch. But don't expect any crossplay support between the console or PC versions with this game as it is "being built specially for mobile."
