Nothing opens sign-ups for phone (1) Android 13 beta test

Nothing has previously said it won't release Android 13 for the Nothing phone (1) this year. But it might be changing things up, at least for those willing to test out the operating system ahead of a full, stable release. The company looks like it's planning to test a beta version of the mobile OS before the year is over. A closed beta is already ongoing, but an open one is expected sometime this month. If you're interested in trying this out, you can register on Nothing's website. The feedback you give will help improve the Nothing OS before it gets widely released.

As with other beta tests, though, you should expect bugs, crashes, and other issues that the unfinished software might throw your way. If your Nothing phone (1) is your main device, we're going to advise you don't take part in the test. It's unclear what the timeline is from beta to the wider release, but we hope it comes earlier than expected in 2023.
