Gucci launches CA$1,270 AirPods Max case

Source: Gucci

Gucci is introducing another premium Apple accessory into its stable. This time, the luxury Italian brand wants you to show off your AirPods Max in an expensive case that stays true to the company. The online-exclusive Ophidia case for the AirPods Max is designed to mix vintage and contemporary looks, brought together by archive-inspired Gucci design elements.

The beige headphone case is lined in neoprene and viscose, which Gucci claims have "low environmental impact." It also features brown leather details, a "Snap" button closure with a gold "GG" logo, and an adjustable shoulder strap so you can carry it around like a small designer bag. Inside the accessory, the Latin word Hodiernum is printed, which means "belonging to the present day."

As 9to5Mac pointed out, it isn't clear if the Ophidia case has magnets like Apple's nondescript Smart Case. Those magnets put the AirPods Max in sleep mode so that it doesn't drain the battery when not in use. You might need to charge more often if it doesn't have that feature.
