'Futurama' returns with Season 11 on Disney+ in Canada

The cult classic animated series Futurama from Matt Groening and David X. Cohen is back with season 11. It'll premiere on July 24 on Disney+ in Canada. The 10 new episodes will feature the original cast and same satirical humour. The series debuted in 1999 and won two primetime Emmys for Outstanding Animated Program.

Futurama follows Phillip J. Fry (Billy West), a New York City pizza delivery boy who accidentally freezes himself in 1999 and wakes up in the year 3000. He joins a ragtag crew of misfits at the Planet Express Delivery Company, founded by descendant, Professor Hubert Farnsworth. Along with his friends Bender (John DiMaggio), Leela (Katey Sagal), Hermes Conrad, Amy Wong, Dr. John Zoidberg, and others, he explores the wonders and dangers of the future.

New viewers can pick up the series from here. Meanwhile, long-time fans will recognize payoffs to decades-long mysteries. We get to see developments in the epic love story of Fry and Leela, the mysterious contents of Nibbler’s litter box, the whereabouts of Kif and Amy’s tadpoles, ad the secret history of evil Robot Santa, among others. There’s also a whole new pandemic in town as the crew explores the future of vaccines, Bitcoin, cancel culture, and streaming TV.
