'Fallout' TV series is coming to Prime Video in 2024

Amazon

Amazon has announced that its long-awaited TV adaptation of the Fallout video game franchise will debut on Prime Video in 2024. The show is being developed by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, the creators of Westworld, in collaboration with Bethesda, the game studio behind Fallout.

At Gamescom’s Xbox booth, Bethesda’s Todd Howard and Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer unveiled a teaser trailer for the serie. The trailer reportedly featured a nuclear blast near a city resembling Los Angeles. There were survivors roaming the wasteland and a woman emerging from Vault 33, one of the underground shelters in the Fallout universe.

Prime Video also confirmed on X that LA will be the setting for Vault 33. Bethesda had been exploring the possibility of bringing Fallout to the screen for over a decade. The company said that it was impressed by Joy and Nolan’s vision for the series, which will combine a "serious and harsh" tone with "ironic humor" and "B-movie nuclear fantasies."
